In 1821, the meeting of Alfred d'Orsay and the poet Countess Margaret of Blessington gave birth to their first perfume, a symbol of an exceptional love story that lasted thirty years. Margaret, twice married and older than Alfred, defied convention, and all two led a lavish life, away from prying eyes.
