perfumer:

"The inspiration was to create the fragrance of today's Dandy, a person who is rebellious, anti-conventional, status and assertive. I wanted to create an unexpected and recognizable scent by contrasting a slightly smoky Black Tea Cuiré accord with a sweet and innocent Orange Blossom, I really wanted the scent to make you want to smell it indefinitely, an almost obsessive addiction."

Creation

Sidonie Lancesseur envisioned the new fragrance DANDY OR NOT. G.A. Grimaud Alfred is the original surname of Alfred d'Orsay — a fascinating and charismatic figure, gifted and visionary, celebrated as a dandy 200 years ago. His defiance of convention, even then, would likely have led him to reject the very idea of being labeled as such in 2022.

Evocation

D'ORSAY creates unisex fragrances, echoing the first historic fragrance conceived in 1830 by our creator Alfred d'Orsay for himself and the love of his life Marguerite Blessington. D'ORSAY is all about hedonism, disruption and mastery. To seek pleasure, whether sensory or intellectual, to create surprise and break with convention, to defend the historic and precious know-how of perfume, to explore an aesthetic that unites genres.
