perfumer:

"I wanted to create an immersive plant experience, an inner journey into the heart of the forest—that bath of trees that the Japanese call Shinrin Yoku. I worked with Fir Balsam, Rockrose, and Cypriol to create a resinous accord with Pine accents, vibrant like an inner fire. Saffron and nutmeg fan the flames with their spicy nuances, while Vetiver brings strength and breath. I sought to compose an inner forest, like a place of contemplation, authentic and spiritual."

Of Love

An imaginary walk at dusk in a pine forest, where the bark, sap and needles release a resinous breath, both raw and delicate, like a secret that nature offers at the dawn of night.

Know-How

All D'ORSAY candles are cast in France, in a workshop of candle makers with unique and centuries-old expertise spanning four generations.

They are made using traditional, manual techniques preserved by our craftsmen.

The candle glass is signed with a monogram – interlacing letters – in a modern echo of the history of the house.

Use and Care

To get the most out of your D'ORSAY candle, here are the tips to follow:

  • When using for the first time, burn the candle until the entire surface becomes liquid; this will take approximately 4 hours of burning time. This will prevent the wax from hollowing out and forming a well around the wick.
  • Allow the wax to solidify before relighting the candle.
  • Prefer to use a snuffer to avoid smoke.
  • Trim the wick regularly with the wick trimmer (ideal length 3 to 5 mm) to prevent the candle from smoking or the wick from falling into the wax.
  • If the wick becomes misaligned, gently re-center it while the wax is still melted.
  • Do not leave the candle burning unattended and do not burn it for more than four hours at a time after first use.
  • Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets.

To celebrate the holiday season, D’ORSAY unveils its 18:18 Bois Imaginaire candle — a refined tribute to the warmth of wood and the golden light of winter. The illustration, created by Sophie Meilichzon, adorns the glass with a constellation of hot-stamped golden fir trees, evoking an imaginary forest bathed in chiaroscuro. This delicate motif echoes the olfactory composition by Yann Vasnier, blending the depth of Guaiac wood with the resinous softness of Cistus and Fir Balsam. The design and the fragrance converse, the eye and the nose unite within this enchanted wood. An invitation to step into the poetry of a D’ORSAY Christmas, where elegance, mystery, and warmth intertwine.
